He did his graduate work at the University of Georgia under Professor Leo S. Jensen and received his MS degree in 1981. He received an Avian Medicine Internship Certificate from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.\r\nHe is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Avian Pathologists (Past President 2016-2017), the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (Past President, 2007-2008), the Poultry Science Association, the Southern Poultry Science Society (Past President, 2009-2010) and Asociaci\u00f3n Nacional de Especialistas en Ciencias Av\u00edcolas. He has worked for poultry companies such as Cargill, Inc., Peterson Farms Inc., Pfizer Animal Health, and Phibro Animal Health. Currently, he is an adjunct graduate professor at the University of Georgia and an international consultant for poultry companies.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nDuring the interview, relevant questions about coccidiosis were discussed. Dr. Cervantes gave us an update based on the following questions:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>What is coccidia, how it is transmitted, and the life cycle?<\/li>\r\n \t<li>What is the importance of coccidia for
