{"id":11807,"date":"2023-02-13T00:02:13","date_gmt":"2023-02-12T23:02:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/socialagri.com\/agriFM\/?post_type=podcast&#038;p=11807"},"modified":"2023-02-13T06:02:33","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T05:02:33","slug":"dr-rebollo-first-line-of-defense-and-gut-health","status":"publish","type":"podcast","link":"https:\/\/socialagri.com\/agriFM\/podcast\/dr-rebollo-first-line-of-defense-and-gut-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Rebollo: First line of defense and gut health"},"content":{"rendered":"aviNews International interviewed<strong> Dr. Marco Rebollo<\/strong> at the World\u2019s Poultry Congress in Paris to talk about the <strong>First Line of DefenseTM Program and gut health in poultry.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nDr. Rebollo is a poultry veterinarian currently working as a Poultry Segment Manager for North America at Zinpro Corporation.\r\n\r\nAs the poultry industry is facing serious challenges and threats of disease.<strong> It is critical during challenging times to prioritize the health of animals to eliminate the risk of losses.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe Zinpro First Line of Defense Program is a breakthrough in mineral supplementation to support:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The production and maintenance of <strong>epithelial tissue<\/strong>, allowing for improved immune responses.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Maintenance of the epithelial integrity<\/strong>, preventing bacteria from crossing into the bloodstream.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Modulation of inflammation occurring, <strong>allowing more nutrients available for performance<\/strong> including muscle growth and egg production.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nGoing to the basics of immunology, Dr. Rebollo explained that the immune system is composed of cellular and humoral immune responses.\r\n<div class=\"opiniones\">\r\n\r\n<em>\u201cSo, we also have the innate immune response, <strong>which is the natural response of the animal to defend against non-specific aggressions<\/strong> that we can call pathogens or toxins, or even mechanical aggressions, and then we have <strong>the adaptative immune response that is targeted to specific antigens or specific pathogens.\u201d The latter takes some time to develop.<\/strong><\/em>\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\nTherefore, Dr. Rebollo indicated that the Zinpro First Line of Defense is a general concept for the immune system.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>This concept has been developed at Zinpro to summarize the first line that pathogens find when they enter the system.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<strong>It means the physical barriers that are comprised mainly of the epithelium tissue and are usually monolayers of cells.
