Therefore, some studies have been carried out with new ingredients to determine their nutritional value, biological response and the economic viability of their inclusion in diets.\r\n\r\n<strong>Agribusiness co-products have potential for use in animal feed.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-61681 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/nutrinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/cabezal-salvado-arroz830-150x54.png\" alt=\"Rice by-products\" width=\"150\" height=\"54\" \/>The use <strong>\u00a0of rice<\/strong> <strong>by-products deserves<\/strong> attention as it is a staple cereal for human consumption which is grown in most tropical and semi-tropical regions.\r\n\r\nOf the total rice production, about 70% is used for human consumption while waste from the milling industry, including rice husks, rice bran, and broken rice, can be used in animal feed.\r\n\r\nBroken <strong>rice (BR)<\/strong> is obtained during the sieving process. It consists of broken and malformed grains which correspond to 14% of the total grain. Broken rice has been used as a great alternative to corn in animal feed due to its similar\u00a0 metabolizable energy and crude protein values.(<em>Nepomuceno et al<\/em>, 2011; <em>\u00a0Che et al.,<\/em> 2012).\r\n\r\nHowever, BR has a<strong> lower fat content and a higher starch percentage than corn<\/strong> (<em>Rostagno et al<\/em>., 2017) and contains a<strong> very low concentration of fiber<\/strong> (<em>Che et al.<\/em> , 2012).\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-42211\" src=\"https:\/\/nutrinews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/foto-miavit-micotoxinas3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"92\" \/>Some advantages of replacing corn with rice co-products relate to <strong>the low levels of <a href=\"https:\/\/nutrinews.com\/en\/mycotoxin-exposure-in-feed-formulations-for-pigs-and-poultry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mycotoxins<\/a><\/strong> in the grain.
